States This 1997 BMW 540i sedan is finished in Montreal Blue Metallic over Sand Beige Montana leather and is powered by
a 4.4-liter M62 V8 paired with a six-speed manual transmission. The car is equipped with the M Sport suspension package,
a sunroof, 17″ Style 19 alloy wheels, heated front seats, a cassette stereo with a remote six-disc CD changer, a
Premium Hi-Fi sound system, a BlueBus Bluetooth module, and driver-seat memory settings. The seller purchased the car in
2026, and work has since included replacing the battery, starter, accessory and drive belts, idler pulley, and
air-conditioning belt tensioner pulley. This E39 540i now has 107k miles and is now offered with the owner’s manual,
service records, and a clean California title in the seller’s name. The body is finished in Montreal Blue Metallic
(297) and features fog lights, polished trim, and an electric sunroof. The seller notes dings on both sides of the
vehicle, scuffs on the lower and upper right front bumper cover, and a dent on the passenger-side rear C-pillar. The
front bumper cover was repainted under previous ownership, per the seller. The Carfax Report lists an accident in August
2004. The 17″ Style 19 wheels are wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ tires up front and BFGoodrich Road Hugger GTZ
tires at the rear. The car is equipped with the M Sport suspension package and four-wheel disc brakes. The cabin
features seats trimmed in Sand Beige Montana leather, and fine wood trim accents on the center console, door panels, and
dash. Equipment includes automatic climate control, cruise control, an on-board computer, a Premium Hi-Fi sound system,
a cassette stereo, a remote six-disc CD changer mounted in the trunk, heated front seats, and driver-seat memory
settings. A BlueBus Bluetooth module was installed in April 2026. The heated leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a
155-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and gauges for coolant temperature, fuel economy, and fuel level. The digital
odometer indicates 107k miles, approximately 1,800 of which were added during current ownership. The seller notes
intermittent pixel failure in the instrument cluster display. The 4.4-liter M62B44 V8, which was factory rated at 282
horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque. The seller reports that service completed in January 2026 included replacing the
battery, starter, accessory and drive belts, idler pulley, and air-conditioning belt tensioner pulley. The timing chain
guides were not replaced under current ownership. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual
transmission. The clutch slave cylinder was replaced in January 2026. The Carfax report shows the aforementioned damage.
