Image)The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) on Saturday urged establishments to utilise Employees’
Enrolment Campaign (EEC) 2026 and use the one time opportunity to enrol eligible employees who were previously outside
EPF coverage between April 1, 2009 and March 31 of this year.According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Labour
and Employment, the campaign that came into effect on June 29 will remain open up to October 31 and intends to
facilitate voluntary compliance amongst employers and enable eligible workers to access provident fund, pension, and
insurance benefits.The Ministry stated that under EEC 2026, eligible employers can declare and enrol employees who were
left out of EPF coverage during the prescribed period and are alive and continuing in employment with the establishment
on the date of declaration. The campaign provides specified relaxations to facilitate regularisation of past compliance,
including waiver of the employee’s share where it was not deducted earlier, subject to the conditions of the

are required to complete the enrolment and remittance process through the prescribed online portal. The UMANG app would
generate a face authentication-based UAN for each declared employee and contributions are to be remitted through the
Electronic Challan-cum-Return (ECR),” the Ministry said.Live EventsThe EEC 2026, according to the release, is aimed at
benefitting establishments and workers by providing a structured mechanism for bringing eligible employees within the
statutory social security framework. The campaign encourages employers to review employment and wage records, and
identify eligible employees who may have remained outside EPF coverage during the prescribed period.The Labour Ministry
said that EPFO is also undertaking extensive awareness and outreach activities to propagate the most important features
of the campaign amongst employers, employees, establishments, contractors and other stakeholders.Read more: EPFO 3.0:
